Recipe #2 - Jody's Famous Chicken Wings

For those with a hankering for chicken wings after yesterday's amazing radiation post.... look no further. BANG! Here it is. I know a few were looking for it but figured I should send to the whole Inter-webz the creation that has been made with major tweaks over the years.

Jody’s Famous Chicken Wings

Ingredients:
·         Chicken Wings (we usually go for a most expensive pack at ole Costco, usually around $21.00, and split it in two, so only use half of that pack)

Flour Mixture
·         ¾ Cup of Flour
·         ½ Tsp of Cayenne
·         ½ Tsp of Garlic Powder
·         ½ Tsp of Turmeric
·         ½ Tsp of Salt
·         ½ Tsp of Cracked Pepper

Sauce:
·         ¼ Cup of Melted Butter
·         ¾ Cup of Frank’s Hot Sauce

Description:
·         Boil wings in water. I boil them with turmeric, garlic powder, salt and pepper mixed in the water but you don’t have to. It’s not in the ingredients but turmeric is great as an anti-cancer spice and the pepper helps it absorb.
·         Once wings are boiled, about 20 mins, strain them and put aside.
·         Make the flour mixture of flour, cayenne, garlic powder, turmeric, salt and cracked pepper. Mix thoroughly. You can add/subtract spices at this point, I always add more than necessary.
·         Coat the wings in the flour and add to pan lined with parchment paper.
·         Put wings in pre-heated oven at 420 degrees for about 15 mins.
·         Take out the wings and prepare the sauce. Again, I take liberties with the amounts showing so I don’t add as much butter as I used to.
·         Coat each wing in the sauce and put back onto pan with new parchment paper.
·         Place back in the oven at 420 for another 15-20 mins until they look cooked. Usually a nice tinge of dark orange.
·         Enjoy… you’re welcome!!!

NOTE: You can use any sauce you like, we prefer the Frank's as it gives it a good kick, but honey garlic, BBQ, any type really can be used. You just have to judge the amount and to monitor it a bit when cooking with the sauce as you the thicker the sauce, the more you need and the less time that it needs to cook the third time.
